The parents who are happy being parents aren’t upset by her words at all because we know they don’t apply to us. It’s really funny watching all the people she is talking about crash out though and swear they aren’t miserable. As if we don’t all see the way they treat their kids and how unhappy they are.

Idk I think some people aren’t understanding that it’s not necessarily a jab at parents or having kids in general. But, especially in the US, being a parent can be extremely isolating, we have very little support, childcare costs are absolutely insane, and oftentimes women are the ones doing almost all of the domestic and emotional labor in addition to also having to work full time and pay bills. The children themselves are amazing! But all the other things that go along with it is what drains people. Idk that’s just how I interpreted it. To me it was more of an observation on society in general towards parents. But if it truly upset people by what she said, I think that speaks more to how they view themselves than how it applies to her 🤷🏼‍♀️
